The 1 million sq.ft City School campus was inaugurated today under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of Ajman Municipality & Planning Department, and Chairman of R Education and Academic Development (READ) by H.E. Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Chairman of Ajman Ports & Customs Department and Member of the National United Council, accompanied by H.E. Sheikh Salem bin Ahmed Al Nuaimi, Advisor to the Ruler of Ajman for Education and Charity Work.
City School, the largest CBSE curriculum school in Ajman, has opened doors to students for the academic session 2017 – 18. Located on the junction of Sheikh Ammar Road and Sheikh Mohammed by Zayed Road, the school operates under READ, the education arm of R Holding
After touring the school, Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdullah and Sheikh Salem bin Ahmed congratulated the READ team on providing high quality education – starting from primary and going up to advanced education.
Mr. Imran Khan (CEO, READ) in his opening remarks, thanked the dignitaries for their presence and their constant support. He said, “In 2012, under the strategic leadership of H.H. Sheikh Rashid Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi , READ was formed with the inception of City University College of Ajman. READ’s founding philosophy is to offer quality academic ventures and initiatives at various levels of education. For the past five years, through CUCA – we have been successful in offering high quality academic programs at higher education level. We are grateful for the overwhelming positive response that we have received for the College from the UAE community at-large, and it is our hope that City school, which carries forward those very core values, shall see a similar level of acceptance from the community.
City School aims to create and sustain a student-centered learning environment integrated with the UAE Vision 2021. We aim to ensure the highest quality of education through emphasis on recruiting highly-qualified teachers and ensuring regular training programs to keep them abreast with the changing trends in education.”
The City School campus is part of the AED 950 million READ project comprising of development over a land area of 2.2 million sq.ft. The development includes the City School Campus, new campus for City University College of Ajman (CUCA), and CityLife Mall, Al Tallah.
At the newly developed state-of-art educational facility, students will have access to well-equipped science and computer laboratories. Along with outdoor sporting facilities that feature a swimming pool, athletic tracks, basketball, tennis and badminton courts. The school will also provide a playpen and rumpus room for younger students. Well-kitted music and art rooms are made available for the use of students. The school also features a well-resourced medical clinic with a pediatric nurse available at all times.
Khan added, “The school campus has been designed with the students’ convenience and comfort in mind, and when built in its entirety over 3 phases, it will become a second-home to over 6000 students. It will feature use for various technologies to support the delivery of the curriculum and various green initiatives to ensure the campus is eco-friendly and sustainable”. He thanked the parents for trusting City School to further the education of their children and welcomed the students to school
City School is recognized by the Ministry of Education and is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi.
